The two parts of this book develop two aspects of B4B. Part one is the theology behind what we do, and part two is the spirituality in the marketplace that makes us spiritually whole in the midst. One of the features of this book is at the end of each chapter there are discussion questions. Therefore, this would be a good book for a study group on B4B. The chapter on business as a calling is foundational and a good place to start. If business is your calling, then there is no Sunday/Monday divide or any reason to leave business to do “real ministry”. Stevens also does a nice review of church history and how we got to the Sunday/Monday divide. His explanation of ministry in business, “Prophet, Priest and King” is very helpful as is his description of the foundation of corporations and corporate culture. While this book is full of theology, it is also full of practical examples and wisdom. The chapters on integrity and creativity provide a thoughtful look at practical business problems. A good read.
